Happy Holidays from the First Grade!!

Our month of November went by very quickly.  We learned a lot about the Pilgrims and Indians.   We did an awesome job on our Thanksgiving test.   We enjoyed watching Charlie Brown and the Mayflower.  We had popcorn with MM’s.

We will not be having a gift exchange in first grade.  We would like each child to donate an item or two for the food pantry in place of exchanging gifts.  Please bring in a non-perishable food item by December 17th and we will deliver those items to the Pearl City Food Pantry.  During our grab bag game, students will be getting their own “surprise” gifts.

Thank you for helping your child every night with their homework.  Math, reading, writing, and spelling are important parts of first grade learning.  It helps us when we have parents that work with their child.  Please remember to read every day with your child.  Keep working on your book-its.

We will be learning about Christmas in different countries around the world.  Please remember to help your child with their country report.

We also look forward to writing letters to Santa and having fun at our Christmas parties.

Please make sure your child reads over Christmas break.

Cherish your children this Christmas.  Have a wonderful holiday season and enjoy time with them.
